Hamid Nasir Chattha

Hamid Nasir Chattha is a politician from the wazirabad. He was born on 14 November 1944 in Lahore. He is son of Ch. Salah-ud-Din Chatha. In 1966, he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in subject political science from Government College Lahore as well as followed by Bar-at-Law from Lincoln’s Inn, London. 

Hamid Nasir Chattha

He is veteran politician who served honorably on different posts. Hamid Nasir Chattha elected as an MNA in 1985, 1990, 1993, and 2002 from his constituency of Gujranwala. From 31 May 1986 – 3 December 1988, he became the 12th speaker of National Assembly . He held position of Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting from10 April 1985 – 28 January 1986. From 9 November 1990 – 18 April 1993, he also held portfolio of Minister of Planning & Development.

Hamid Nasir is the retired politician from active politics in 2013.  He decided to step away from the political era after a successful career in Politics.

Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema -List of politicians of Gujranwala

Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema is a politician from the Wazirabad city. He was born on  January 1, 1939. He is also retired Justice. The Iftikhar Cheema received his LLB(law) degree from Punjab university and started practicing in Wazirabad bar council.

Ahmad Cheema became a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and represents himself as candidate of Pakistan Muslim League in 2008. He received 71,792 votes and defeated Hamid Nasir Chattha from his Constituency NA-101 (Gujranwala-VII).

Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema -List of politicians of Gujranwala

In 2013, he became the Member of the National Assembly represents the same party in his consitutency elections. Iftikhar received 99,924 votes and defeated Muhammad Ahmad Chattha, son of Hamid Nasir Chattha. Till 2024 the Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema is part of politics. According to 2024 elections, the Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema defeated by Muhammad Ahmad Chattha.

Muhammad Rafiq Tarar

Muhammad Rafiq Tarar was a Pakistani politician and judge. He was born in Mandi Bahauddin on 2 November 1929. Rafiq Tarar graduated with BA in Islamic Studies from Government Islamia College, Gujranwala in 1949. But he obtained LLB degree in 1951 from Punjab University Law College.

Muhammad Rafiq Tarar

The most prominent politician in the Pakistan. He served on noteably positions. Tarar was 9th President of Pakistan from 1 January 1998 – 20 June 2001. He also served as Member of Senate of Pakistan from 1997–1998. Muhammad Rafiq Tarar became Senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan from 17 January 1991 – 1 November 1994. While he was nominated by Benazir Bhutto and appointed by Ghulam Ishaq Khan.

Muhammad Rafiq became Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court from 6 March 1989 – 31 October 1991. Tikka Khan appointed the Muhammad Rafiq. Later Tarar preceded by Abdul Shakurul Salam and succeeded by Mian Mahboob Ahmad.

Imtiaz Safdar Warriach

Imtiaz Safdar Warriach is Pakistani Politician. He was born on November 15, 1952 in Ladhewala Waraich, Gujranwala. He is a lawyer by profession. Warriach completed M.A in political science after obtaining an LLB. He has been a member of the Bar Association of Gujranwala since 1975.

Imtiaz Safdar Warraich has held office as General Secretary of District Bar Association from 1982-1983.He became Member of Zila Council from 1983-1991.Warraich became Member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly from 1993-1996. As well as he held position of Parliamentary Secretary of Law from 1994-1996. Imtiaz Safdar became Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab in 1996 and Director of the Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank Ltd. 

Imtiaz Safdar Warriach - List of politicians of Gujranwala

He was elected as MNA from 2002-2007. Warraich re-elected as MNA from 2008 and Federal Minister of State for Communications in 2008. His Constituency is NA-98 (13th Assembly).

Bashir Maan – List of politicians of Gujranwala

Usman Ibrahim is considers in the List of politicians of Gujranwala. He is a Pakistani Politician. Usman was born on 1 September 1939. He received his graduation degree from Government College University in Lahore before doing law graduation from Punjab University Law College in Lahore. He also did Barrister at Law from Lincoln’s Inn.

From June 2013 – January 2014 ,he was appointed as Minister of State for Housing and Works. He became Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development from January 2014 – November 2015. Rather then from August 2017 – 10 October 2017, he appointed as Minister of State for Law and Justice. Usman Ibrahim appointed as Federal Minister for Defence Production from 3 May 2018 – 31 May 2018.

Usman was elected as MNA from 17 March 2008 – 31 May 2018. He had elected from Constituency NA-95 (Gujranwala-I) . Later he re-elected as MNA (Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan) from 15 August 2018 – 10 August 2023. Elected as MNA from Constituency NA-82 (Gujranwala-IV).

Muhammad Iqbal Gujjar

Muhammad Iqbal Gujjar is a Pakistani Politician. He was born on 6 July 1943 in Gurdaspur of India. He did his graduation in 1963 from Government College Sheikhupura. Also he has the degree of Bachelor of Arts.

In fact Gujjar was appointed as Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 29 May 2013 – 31 May 2018 and elected again from 1985–2007. Later he was elected as Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 15 August 2018 – 14 January 2023. Thus Muhammad iqbal Gujjar won from the Constituency PP-63 Gujranwala-XIII.

He was also appointed for honorable posts functioned as Minister for Revenue, Minister for Irrigation & Power, Minister for Information, Minister for Agriculture, Minister for Education, Minister for Food and as Special Assistant to Chief Minister .

Akram Zaki

Akram Zaki is considers in the List of politicians of Gujranwala. He was born on 27 October 1931 in Gujranwala. He held honorable role of senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League. Zaki also appointed as chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.

He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs as Pakistani ambassador to China, Nigeria, the Philippines and the United States from April 1991 – 10 September 1991. Zaki also held the position of Pakistan Senator from Islamabad Capital Territory from 21 March 1997 – 20 March 2002.

Akram Zaki

He also represented Pakistan at several national and international conferences including United Nations General Assembly, UN Human Rights Commission, Organization of Islamic Conference, Asian Development Bank. Akram Zaki died on 30 November 2017 at Islamabad.

Chaudry Tussadiq Masud Khan

Chaudry Tussadiq Masud Khan is a politician. He is a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. He was firstly elected from Constituency NA-100 as his native constituency. After the seat was vacated by Mudasir Nahra, who was disqualified. He is also a member of the Standing Committee for Food and Agricultural Affairs.

Khurram Dastgir Khan – List of politicians of Gujranwala

Khurram Dastgir Khan is a politician. He was on 3 August 1970 in Gujranwala. Khurram is son of Ghulam Dastgir Khan. He studied at the St. Joseph’s High School in Gujranwala and Cadet College at Hasan Abdal. Khan did his degree in Economics from Bowdoin College in Brunswick Maine. He was therefore trained as an electrical engineer at the California Institute of Technology.

He was elected as a candidate of PML(N) in Pakistani general election of 2008. In October 2008, he also elected as Chairman of the Standing Committee of National Assembly of Commerce. His Constituency is NA-81 (Gujranwala-III) 

Later he holds the position of Minister of Commerce from 17 January 2014 – 28 July 2017. Khurram Dastagir Khan was appointed as Minister of Defence from 4 August 2017 – 31 May 2018. He also became Minister of Foreign Affairs from 11 May 2018 – 31 May 2018. Khan also holds the position of Federal Minister of Energy from 19 April 2022 – 10 August 2023.

Ghulam Dastgir Khan

He is a Pakistani Politician. Ghulam has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 1990 to 1999 . His son Khurram Dastgir Khan is also a politicain. Although he was elected as MNA from 1990-1999 from Constituency NA-76 (Gujranwala-III). Ghulam Dastgir also elected as MNA from March 1977 – July 1977 from Constituency NA-100 (Gujranwala-III).

Muhammad Aslam Butt 

He was a Pakistani politician. Muhammad Aslam Butt remained mayor of Gujranwala city for three consecutive terms. He was elected mayor of Municipal Corporation Gujranwala from 1980 to 1983,1983 to 1987, then from 1988 to 1991. In 16 December 2016, he died in his hometown Gujranwala at age of 85.
